Waking up to a Dream!
It is one of the most amazing places in India. Darjeeling. The clouds greet you in the morning with a home grown tea. We literally have no words for what we experienced, it was just a different world. Though still a part of a growing nation like India, the place is a bit behind in terms of technology, but for good. The people are so genuine & we saw a different part of India. Clean roads, patient drivers on the road and beautiful views. We could not ask for anything more.
The travelling around from Darjeeling to Gangtok was an interesting ride as well. Crazy roads were the biggest highlight. We really appreciate the drivers who risk their lives driving on the narrow roads, but at the same time being very courteous & taking care of the tourists. The local markets, short trip to Nepal and the amazing food was the best experience we could have asked for.
Sometimes beauty is in simplicity, & the North East is a perfect example.
